Architect: Zaha Hadid Architects, London

The "Learning and Library Centre" of the University of Economics in Vienna opens up academic worlds. The users of the futuristic building, designed by the famous architect Zaha Hadid with distinctive angles and overhanging elements, must also be able to open, close, secure and pass through doors. Our technology ensures that these processes in the new building which opened at the start of the 2013/14 semester are comfortable, secure and barrier-free: the automatic sliding door systems with discreet profiles and drives blend harmoniously into the design of the learning centre. The architect has handled the project as an "urban block" containing public and private areas. Our locks (manual and automatically locking) and hardware have been used in fire protection and escape doors with all kinds of profile materials in these areas to safeguard the escape and rescue routes. The learning centre belongs to the new campus of the University of Economics in Leopoldstadt in Vienna.
