Zorlu Center, Istanbul, Turkey

Architect: Emre Arolat Architects, Istanbul, TR

Prestigious, imposing and huge. With its 639 square metres, the building complex is almost an urban district of its own. It sits enthroned on a hill over the Bosporus Bridge. The four white towers are supported by an unusual base structure where a shopping centre is located among other facilities. The project also accommodates a fitness club, a hotel, a concert hall, office space and luxury residences. The shopping centre offers its visitors more than 200 shops and 40 catering establishments

It received the ICSC European Shopping Centre Award in 2016.
The award honours newly built, revitalised or extended centres but also established ones. 6 centres were awarded from 12 finalists, and the Zorlu Center in Istanbul was one of them, namely in the category "New developments (large, extra large)".
