Architect: Architek­tengemeinschaft Zimmermann + code unique, Dresden

Conce­ived as a block that winds through several right angles, the new building of the faculty of informa­tion tech­no­logy at the TU Dresden is not just cap­tiva­ting due to its external form, but also its refres­hing colour concept. The Dresden architectural coope­ra­tive Zimmermann + code unique deve­loped a remarkable faculty building, whose facades made of metal, Eternit, printed and coloured glass are endu­ring proof that univer­sity architecture in parti­cular can be out­standing. With its inter­play of outdoor spaces and internal cour­tyards and its flexible structure for use, the new building is cha­racte­rised as a ver­sa­tile place of com­mu­nica­tion.
